Living with Cancer with Sheila Bergman

Please join Sheila Bergman RMT for this presentation on Living with Cancer.

In this presentation, the participant will develop an understanding of what cancer is and how it affects the body, mind and spirit of the client. They will gain a general knowledge of treatments for cancer with a focus on treatments that may have an effect on the treatment plan.

The participant will be able to understand the effects of massage therapy treatment for clients who are navigating the many stages of cancer and cancer treatment. They should be able to adapt their treatment plan to have a positive outcome, and most of all do no harm.

MTAM Practicing/Non-Practicing/Retired/Student Members: $50 plus GST
MTAM Associate Members: $65 + GST

Non-Members: $95 + GST

Prairie Mountain Health Region Meet & Greet - including Brandon

The Prairie Mountain Health Region Meet & Greet is intended for MTAM members who live in the Prairie Mountain Region including the City of Brandon. 

This region runs east-west from the Saskatchewan/Manitoba border (Benito, Elkhorn and Russell) to Waterhen Lake, Lake Manitoba and Treherne. From north-south, the region runs from the 53rd parallel north of Mafeking and close to Dawson Bay, right down to the United States border near communities like Melita, Deloraine, Boissevain, Killarney and Cartwright.  PMH regional map. 

Members in the Dauphin area may also wish to attend the Northern Health Region Meet & Greet.

MTAM has worked with our CPR instructor, Tori Webber, to create a process that allows you to safely re-certify your Level C CPR while following appropriate physical distancing guidelines set out by the Province of Manitoba. 

It will include a combination of online delivery of the lecture with an in-person practical component. This will allow for the instructor to observe participants and allow the participant an opportunity to ask questions and receive direct feedback.

At the end of the session, participants will understand the subtleties of health care boundary crossings and the insidious nature of their development. They will be able to evaluate their own practice habits and modify, if necessary, to ensure a safe, healthy, and positive treatment environment for both their clients and themselves.
