Along with the Milestone winners, awards will be presented for the MTAM Merit Award, The Mentor of the Year Award, The Educator of the Year Award, The Heather Whitaker Award, The Research Award and the MTAM Scholarship.
Live streaming of the event will begin at 7:00pm.

In this informative presentation, Glen Bergeron, PhD., CAT(C) will discuss how common medications affect massage treatment.
More and more clients are seeking massage therapy for ailments for which they are also taking medications. As a healthcare provider, it is helpful to know the pharmacology behind the more common medications like painkillers, anti-inflammatories and muscle relaxants and their effect on the recovery and treatment of your client. This lecture will be a basic introduction into how medications are metabolized and what effect they have on the body to address the client’s symptoms.

The Anatomy and physiology will be reviewed, as well as common pathological conditions that affect breathing ability. Application of a variety of treatment tchniques will develop the skills necessary for the therapist to develop a treatment plan for their clients with breathing dysfunction.

Join MTAM and the RCMP for this popular online presentation. Learn how to recognize safety risks in your practice and how to modify those risks. Ways to create a safer working environment will also be discussed. Time will be allotted to discuss specific safety concerns, specifically concerns as they relate to working in a rural practice, that therapists have within their practice. Join Denise Drisdelle BA, RMT for this 4-day, July 7th - 10th classroom course that covers the original Dr. Vodder Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD) strokes and their application to each body part, including the neck, face, arms, legs, nape, back, buttocks, chest and abdomen. These techniques can be applied to many conditions, for example, a sprained ankle on day 1 of injury, skin conditions like acne, sinus congestion, digestive issues, acute injuries, MVAs and concussions.
Through careful, systematic training of your hands, and thorough training in the scientific basis of lymphology, you will gain all the skills necessary to excel in this work. Learning outcomes for the theoretical portion covers the anatomy and physiology of the lymphatic system, effects of MLD, connective tissues, lymphedema and edema and contraindications.
**Prior to taking this course you will need to completed the Level One Theory. Register for the theory portion directly though the Vodder School. Email Vodder School at info@vodderschool.com to register for the online course. A course fee of $150 + GST will apply.
