With 2 in 5 Canadians diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime, it is important that RMTs are informed about cancer, treatments and their side effects, and the many ways in which massage therapy can help within a safe treatment plan. In this webinar, we will briefly cover:

· What cancer is and how metastasis occurs;

· How cancer treatments are administered: surgery, chemotherapy, radiation, hormone therapy;

· Common treatment side effects, such as pain, fatigue, peripheral neuropathy, radiation fibrosis, lymphedema;

· How massage therapy can effectively address cancer-related side effects;

· When and how to modify massage therapy to remain safe;

· Cancer-massage myths vs current scientific evidence

Drawing on current research and over a decade of extensive experience, Susan presents valuable information for massage therapists on how to plan and deliver safe and effective treatments to help alleviate complications related to cancer treatment. Susan is an engaging and lively presenter passionate about sharing how massage therapy should regularly be part of cancer care.
