The Massage Therapy Association of Manitoba (MTAM) is a non-profit organization that represents over 1200 professional massage therapists, associate clinics, students, and retired practitioners across Manitoba.
Since 1973, we have been dedicated to the advancement of massage therapy as an integral part of healthcare in the province. We are excited to celebrate our 50th Anniversary in 2023!
MTAM is managed by a Board of Directors who are chosen by the Association’s members at annual meetings. All Directors are Registered Massage Therapists and serve for two-year terms. The Association benefits from the hard work of six volunteer committees that oversee projects and address issues relevant to the profession.
Our full-time office staff team supports our volunteer-led Board and committees in implementing initiatives and projects that help our members.
We take pride in promoting the benefits of massage therapy for pain management, injury recovery, preventative health, stress reduction, and overall wellness. We also provide resources and information to our members and the public, create professional development and networking opportunities, and negotiate group discounts and benefits.
We facilitate mentoring and peer support between members and work with health centers, clinics, spas, and employers to ensure our Registered Massage Therapists are treated equitably and have positive and strong work relationships. Our database of members, MTAM Registered Massage Therapists, ensures that Manitobans have access to highly qualified massage therapists.
Uniting all massage therapists in Manitoba, aiming to elevate the profession to its highest potential and promoting the health and well-being of all Manitobans.
The Massage Therapy Association of Manitoba empowers our members with responsive practice assistance, ongoing professional development, and advocacy. MTAM is the professional home for registered massage therapists.
