Join Jennifer Newman as she explains the medical approach to pain management, and the discussions that typically happen in the doctor’s office. She will provide a brief review of medications and classes of medications commonly used in pain management and finally she will discuss how the medical management of pain relates to massage therapy treatment.

Instructor Bio
Jennifer Newman is a Canadian Certified Physician Assistant, a graduate of the Master of Physician Assistant Studies program through the Max Rady College of Medicine at the University of Manitoba, in 2018. Since graduation she has been practicing as a Physician Assistant with the Department of Psychiatry in Addiction Medicine for Shared Health Manitoba. She has an appointment within the Department of Psychiatry as a Clinical Teacher and regularly works with and supervises learners. Jennifer works in both inpatient and outpatient settings. She is passionate about delivering safe and compassionate care in a setting that provides patients with dignity and respect.
