Every ache, tension pattern, or area of discomfort follows a pathway. Pathways & Pathologies is a three-part series designed for massage therapists who want a deeper, anatomy-focused understanding of how the nervous system contributes to common musculoskeletal conditions. These workshops are intentionally anatomy-heavy, with a strong clinical focus on real-world presentations you see in practice. You’ll explore nerve pathways in detail and learn how they relate to patterns such as pain, restriction, and dysfunction. By connecting detailed anatomy to hands-on application, this series will help you assess more clearly, treat more confidently, and bring greater precision and purpose to your work.
Workshop 1: Cranial & Core Nerves
This anatomy-focused workshop explores key nerves of the face, neck, and diaphragm, with
direct connections to common clinical presentations. You’ll take a deeper dive into how these
pathways relate to musculoskeletal concerns such as TMJ dysfunction, facial tension patterns,
neck discomfort, and restricted breathing.
With a strong emphasis on structure, function, and clinical relevance, you’ll learn to connect
detailed anatomy to what you feel in practice. This session will help you approach these often-
sensitive areas with greater clarity, safety, and confidence while supporting meaningful
outcomes for your clients.
Workshop 2: Upper Extremity Nerves
The arms, shoulders, and hands are common areas of tension and discomfort for many clients. In
this workshop, you’ll explore how nerve pathways contribute to these patterns and how they
relate to everyday issues like wrist discomfort, shoulder tightness, and arm fatigue.
This workshop takes a detailed, anatomy-driven look at the nerve pathways of the upper
extremity and their role in common musculoskeletal conditions. You’ll explore how these
structures contribute to patterns such as shoulder tension, arm discomfort, and wrist-related
issues frequently seen in practice.
With a clear focus on clinical application, you’ll learn to connect nerve anatomy to assessment
findings and treatment approaches. This session is designed to help you better understand what’s
driving your clients’ symptoms and how to respond with more targeted, effective care.
Workshop 3: Lower Extremity Nerves
In this anatomy-heavy workshop, you’ll explore the nerve pathways of the lower body and their
relationship to common musculoskeletal concerns. From the hips to the feet, you’ll examine how
these structures contribute to patterns of tension, restricted movement, and discomfort.
With a strong clinical lens, this session will help you better understand presentations such as
radiating leg pain, hip tension, and lower limb dysfunction. By linking detailed anatomy to
practical application, you’ll gain tools to approach these complex areas with greater confidence and precision.
